In the last few years, QuickTime has received some tough competition from leading multimedia players. While the app supports a good number of formats, the free version needs a few third-party codecs to play some files. It supports most major video and audio file formats and provides users with a suite of applications. It is the multimedia technology developed by Apple that handles videos, sound, animation, music and more.
Department of Homeland Security recommended Windows users uninstall the program. In, however, it was announced Apple would no longer provide security updates to the Windows version. Quicktime is a safe and secure technology and application that comes pre-installed on most Apple laptop and desktop products and receives security updates regularly.
